Zara - Digital Solution
Designing & Prototyping
College Project - Duration: 2 Months

The Task

Observe and document any place. Identify user problems and provide a digital solution for it.
What I did

At the start of the project, not knowing what it was leading to, I chose to observe Zara because I love shopping and I always felt some retail stores could have something different. During the observation, I noticed that the billing queue is always long and it lead to people getting impatient. For some, it was to the point where, it made them quit the line and leave the store.

I created a scenario map to better understand the steps that a shopper would take and, what they Do, Think & Feel during this time.

Documentation
By observing users interact with a product or service, designers can identify usability issues, pain points, and areas of improvement. It also provides insights for iterative design and helps to create user-centric solutions.
Scenario Map of a Shopper
A scenario map was created to develop a deep understanding of the user's perspective by mapping out their experience and emotions throughout their journey. This helps designers to empathise with users, uncover pain points, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Design Variables
Design variables are essentially the parameters or properties that can be adjusted or manipulated during the design process.

Writing them helped to provide structure and flexibility, enabling designers to iterate, optimise, collaborate, and create better user experiences.
Data Visualisation
Creating these graphs and charts helped in analysing user behaviour patterns and interactions with the product. By doing this, designers can gain insights into how users are engaging with the product.
